Welcome to Beth Torah

Congregation Beth Torah is a small yet vital part of the Morris/Essex County Jewish Community. For those who are searching for an intimate religious experience, we offer an alternative where congregants and the rabbi interact in an exceptionally comfortable and friendly way. We know there are a large number of Jews searching for a new type of Jewish connection, one which we can offer to them.

Despite our small size, we offer our members a full range of programs and services.  Our Hebrew school is second to none, while providing flexibility for the busy schedules of parents and children.  Under the leadership of Educational Director Lisa Glyck, children receive individualized Bar/Bat Mitzvah training according to their abilities and needs, and are exceptionally well prepared and confident for their special day.  Each year, we conduct our High Holy Day Services at the Alex Aidekman Jewish Community Center in Whippany. We use this facility to accommodate all of our members and their families, as well as providing a place for all who may not be affiliated with a temple to join in prayer. This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with our members and our spiritual leader, Rabbi David B. Saltzman.  We encourage participation from all members, infants to seniors, at our major holiday celebrations and Sabbath services on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of every month. Additionally, we have an active Sisterhood and Men’s Club.  Our Adult Education program offers three courses during the year, and has focused on various parts of our culture and our Jewish History.  Also, our congregation participates in various fund-raisers throughout the year as a way to raise money for the community and for the congregation while interacting with each other in an enjoyable social setting.  We are close to realizing our dream of building a new shul on our current site. With the building plans already approved by the town of Florham Park, we are eager to beautify our temple for our members and the community-at-large. Finally, we encourage communication and connection with our non-Jewish neighbors by participating in the Interfaith Council of Florham Park and Madison.

Please consider this opportunity to be a part of something special. Congregation Beth Torah offers an experience one cannot often find in other congregations. When we are all brought together, each becomes a part of the whole, a member of the family. There is a feeling of comfort, courage, and ease. This feeling is shared not just by adults, but by our children and the visitors who join us to pray. We welcome you to join us and help carry on this special tradition, as we believe it represents the future.

Congregation Beth Torah is currently accepting requests for High Holy Day tickets as well as applications for membership and Hebrew School registration,.
